HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AWARENESS
(Train-the-Trainer)
This three-day train-the-trainer (T-t-T) course provides
instructors the opportunity to become certified by the Illinois Emergency
Management Agency to instruct both the eight-hour Hazardous Materials Awareness
(HMA) and four-hour Hazardous Materials Awareness Refresher (HMAR) courses. The
HMA and HMAR courses are mandated by federal law (OSHA 1910.120) for employees
of police, fire, emergency medical services, and some public works departments.
Following successful completion of the T-t-T course, each student will receive
all materials necessary to instruct the HMA and HMAR courses.
Course attendance is by invitation only. Individuals
interested in attending should contact the IEMA Regional Coordinator serving their county.
Please note: Applications for courses will be accepted up to 1 day prior to the course date.
However, the cutoff date for lodging is 7 days prior to class.
There are no scheduled dates for this course.
