Professional Development Series (PDS) Course
The objectives of this two day course are to improve
planning skills and promote the development of integrated emergency operations
plans. Established planning concepts are used within the context of emergency
management. The components of an emergency operations plan are presented. The
planning process, action planning techniques, importance of team building
during plan development and purpose of exercising plans are thoroughly
addressed.
This course is appropriate for anyone involved in the
development of integrated emergency operations plans

CORRESPONDING INDEPENDENT STUDY COURSE MUST BE COMPLETED. THE INDEPENDENT STUDY

WEBSITE. AFTER RECEIVING YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE, PLEASE SEND A
COPY TO IEMA, 2200 SOUTH DIRKSEN PARKWAY, SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS 62703 SO IT CAN BE ADDED
TO YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. FOLLOWING THE RECEIPT OF THE INDEPENDENT STUDY
CERTIFICATE AND COMPLETION OF THE CLASSROOM PORTION, YOUR COURSE CERTIFICATE
WILL BE MAILED TO YOU. AT THIS POINT THE COURSE WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR BOTH THE
PDS AND THE IPEM PROGRAM.

courses will be accepted up to 1 day prior to the course date. However, the cutoff date for lodging is 7 days prior to class.
