DECISION MAKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING
Professional Development Series (PDS) Course
This Independent Study course provides an opportunity for state and local response personnel and public officials to practice making decisions as they would during an incident. Since functioning in an emergency clearly is not "business as usual", response personnel and community leaders must make decisions to help their communities recover quickly. This workshop allows students to make those types of emergency-related decisions, then examine the impact of their decisions on emergency operations and on the community at large. It also provides them with the skills necessary to make decisions that are ethical and examine the impact of those decisions that may be made without ethics in mind.
This Independent Study course is appropriate for state and local response personnel and public officials that are required to make decisions during emergency operations.
