List of Radon Measurement Laboratories
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency Division of Nuclear Safety (DNS) is providing this information to assist you with selecting a radon measurement laboratory.
The Radon Measurement Laboratories listing only includes those laboratories that have demonstrated their ability to measure radon accurately to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and that have applied for licensure in Illinois.
These laboratories can sell you a radon detector(s), by mail order. Follow instructions, to place and retrieve the detector, then mail the detector back to the laboratory for analysis. Two different radon detectors are offered by the listed laboratories, alpha-track and activated charcoal absorption. The typical cost of these detectors ranges from $6.00 to $25.00.
