The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is responsible for coordinating the
State's disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and
activities. This is accomplished through the unified efforts of personnel in
the Central Office in Springfield and 8
Regional Offices.
The Division of Nuclear Safety is responsible for protecting Illinois residents
from the potentially harmful effects of ionizing radiation. This division of
IEMA administers over two dozen programs to protect citizens and the environment.
Contact information for the individual programs
within the Division of Nuclear Safety can be found within the Central Office phone list.
Regional Coordinators facilitate the efforts of local (county
and municipal) Emergency Services and Disaster Agencies
(ESDAs), elected officials, response agencies, and voluntary
organizations to save lives and protect property.
You may contact these offices to learn about projects, plans, and programs with
the common goal of making and keeping Illinois' citizens safer. Through these
contacts you can learn steps and take actions now to better prepare your family
and home before emergencies arise or disasters strike.
If you would like to contact IEMA in regard to a broken link, 404 technical
error, or any other website problem, please email the IEMA Webmaster.
